How the content on this site gets written

I am responsible for what gets published on Green Dog Grooming. Professional grooming experience is the foundation of the site; where a statement comes from manufacturer documentation, outside research, a certification, or another source, I identify that distinction rather than presenting it as firsthand experience.

What I know firsthand, and what I don’t

Grooming is mine. Coat types, brushing, bathing, drying, deshedding, matting, nails, ears, what a coat does in desert conditions, what holds up in a house with a dog in it. That comes from doing the work.

Green Dog Grooming Guides can also discuss products and services that arise naturally while grooming and caring for dogs, including vacuums, cleaning products, bedding, food, supplements, training, tracking, insurance and other dog-owner decisions. In areas outside professional grooming, I rely on appropriate documentation and research and stay within the limits of my expertise rather than presenting myself as a veterinarian, nutritionist, insurance professional or other specialist.

You should always be able to tell which one you’re reading.

Where things come from

Grooming observations come from the work.

Product specifications, ingredients and environmental claims must be supported by reliable source material, including manufacturer documentation, safety data sheets, certifications or other appropriate evidence. Once a product attribute is adequately supported, I may state that attribute directly in ordinary editorial language — for example, “biodegradable shampoo” or “made with naturally derived ingredients” — without repeating “the manufacturer says” every time. I do not present the underlying testing, certification or research as my own work, and I do not broaden a supported product claim beyond what the evidence establishes.

Anything medical or scientific comes from veterinary and scientific sources, cited where it matters.

I don’t cite a source to make a thin claim sound solid. If something can’t be supported, I narrow it until it can be or leave it out.

Where I stop

I’m a groomer, not a veterinarian.

I can describe what I see on a dog — dry skin, a hot spot, an ear that smells wrong, a coat that’s changed. I can tell you it’s worth a vet visit. I can’t tell you what it is or how to treat it, and I won’t.

The same applies elsewhere. Nothing here is individualized legal, financial, insurance or tax advice.

Products and commissions

Some articles contain affiliate links, disclosed at the top of the article. A commission never decides what gets recommended.

Where I’ve used something, I say how. Where I haven’t, I explain what the design and specifications support and let you judge.

I don’t write about CBD, therapeutic supplements or prescription medication in order to reach higher-paying programs. Full detail is on the affiliate information page.

Environmental claims

I’ll describe what’s actually true about how I work — water carried onboard, used bath water captured and taken away, the salon running from stored power rather than a generator during appointments.

I won’t call the business zero-emission or carbon-neutral. The van is diesel and it drove to your house.

For products, environmental attributes must stay within the evidence available for that specific product. Supported terms such as biodegradable or naturally derived may be used directly to describe the product; I do not need to turn normal prose into repeated attribution language. Certifications are named when the certification itself is relevant to the claim. Broad, unregulated terms such as eco-friendly and natural are not treated as proof by themselves.

Photographs and reviews

Photographs are of real work, my own equipment, or properly licensed images. Client dogs and homes appear only with permission.

Reviews are from real clients. I don’t write testimonials or invent results.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, I fix it rather than leaving it because it ranks. Prices, service area, policies, products and equipment get updated on the page when they change in reality.

AI

I use AI tools for research organization, drafting, editing and other production support. AI does not replace source verification or professional judgment. What gets published still has to stay within the governing evidence, and factual statements about my grooming practice, business, prices, policies, firsthand product experience and professional observations must be grounded in the applicable source.

The point

Green Dog Grooming exists primarily to help dog owners groom and care for their dogs well, choose useful products and equipment, and identify meaningful environmental advantages when the evidence supports them. Green Dog Grooming Guides is the main national editorial and recommendation system; Green Dog Community supports discussion; My Dogs supports personalization; The Greener Dog is the newsletter; and Mobile Grooming remains the North Phoenix service branch. Affiliate commissions support the national publishing model, but they do not determine the recommendation.
