Meet Yvette
I’m Yvette Ehler, the owner and groomer at Green Dog Grooming. I started the business in 2009 with my late husband, Jerry, after completing professional grooming training and earning my grooming certificate.
I still do every groom myself. When you book with me, I’m the person who arrives, grooms your dog, and brings them back to you.
What an Appointment Is Like
Your dog is the only dog in the climate-controlled Mercedes Sprinter parked outside your home. There are no cages, no waiting room, and no rotation between groomers.
- One dog at a time; dogs from the same household are groomed one after another
- A bath, thorough drying, and brushing or a haircut suited to your dog’s coat
- A haircut you can keep brushed and comfortable between visits
- I’ll talk with you if matting, health, or behavior changes what I can safely do
Grooming for North Phoenix Dogs
Desert dust, dry air, hard water, indoor air conditioning, and long shedding seasons all affect skin and coat. I focus on clean skin, airflow through the coat, complete drying, and thorough removal of loose undercoat.
I choose products and tools for the coat I’m working on. I won’t pull through painful matting to save length or push a dog through extra styling when they’ve had enough. Healthy double coats get thorough undercoat removal rather than a summer shave.
A Quieter Mobile Salon
The salon runs on a Victron inverter and lithium battery system while parked, so a gas or diesel grooming generator does not run during the appointment. Used bath water is captured in the van’s greywater tank rather than discharged onto the street.
The van itself runs on diesel. I keep my appointments close together to spend less time driving and more time grooming.
