Dogs and services
What Green Dog grooms
What types of dogs do you groom?
Most breeds and coat types, including double coats, smooth coats, curly or wavy coats, flat-faced breeds, mixed breeds, and designer breeds. I do not groom Akitas or Chow Chows. I focus on practical, maintainable grooming rather than show cuts.
What handling or health limits apply?
Dogs must tolerate routine grooming and ordinary handling. I do not provide veterinary sedation, veterinary restraint, diagnosis, or medical treatment. I may modify or stop a groom if a dog becomes overly stressed, medically unstable, or unsafe.
Choosing a category
Which grooming service fits?
Breed is a helpful starting point, but the actual coat determines the category. Coat density matters more than coat length alone.
Single-Coated Bath & Brush
Smooth or single coats with little or no substantial undercoat. Examples: Boxer, Pit Bull, French Bulldog, Boston Terrier.
Short Double-Coated Bath & Brush
Shorter coats with a true shedding undercoat. Examples: Labrador, Heeler, Beagle, Rottweiler, Pug, Shiba Inu.
Thick Double-Coated Groom
Dense or longer double coats needing substantially more drying and coat work. Examples: Husky, Malamute, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Corgi, Pomeranian.
Full Groom
Continuously growing coats that need clipping and scissoring. Examples: Goldendoodle, Poodle, Shih Tzu, Maltese.
Not sure which service fits? Choose the closest description when you book. I confirm the final category from your dog’s actual coat before grooming begins.
What is included
Bath & Brush and Full Groom
What comes with a Bath & Brush?
Professional iGroom shampoo selected for the coat, conditioner as appropriate, a complete rinse, high-velocity drying, brushing, nail trim, ear cleaning, and external anal gland expression if needed.
What comes with a Full Groom?
Everything in a Bath & Brush, plus clipping, scissoring, or both. The finish is based on coat condition, preferred length, and the home brushing that can be maintained realistically.
Products and skin
How shampoo is selected
What kind of shampoo do you use?
Professional iGroom formulas selected for the individual coat and visible condition—not one product for every dog.
- Squeaky Clean for clarifying oil and buildup
- Deshedding + Detangling for undercoat release
- Squalane Care for moisture, slip, and flexibility
- Hypoallergenic when a milder formula is appropriate
- Extreme Volume for structure in curly coats
- True Color Brightening (Violet) for light coats
Any environmental or sustainability descriptions are the manufacturer’s claims.
What if my dog has sensitive or irritated skin?
I can simplify product choice and use a milder formula when appropriate. I can observe visible dryness, redness, irritation, odor, or debris, but diagnosing allergies, infection, dermatitis, or another medical condition belongs with a veterinarian.
The van and route
At your home
What is the service area?
Moon Valley, Deer Valley Village, North Mountain Village, Lookout Mountain, and Arrowhead Ranch. Confirmed ZIPs include 85022, 85023, 85024, 85027, 85029, 85032, 85053, 85306, 85308, and 85310.
Do I need to provide water or electricity?
No, not during normal appointments. The van carries a 70-gallon fresh-water tank and a separate 70-gallon greywater tank. A Victron lithium power system operates the salon without a gas or diesel grooming generator running at your curb.
Where does grooming happen?
The complete appointment happens in the van parked curbside at your home. I do not groom inside the house.
Can I stay with my dog?
Owners do not stay inside during grooming. You are welcome to walk your dog to the van, look around, and ask questions before the appointment begins.
Booking and appointment day
Practical details
How do I book?
Use the Green Dog online calendar and your saved dog information to choose the closest service and an available time. Booking is direct; there is no separate request-and-approval step.
Will you tell me when you are on the way?
Yes. I text an estimated arrival time when I am headed to your home.
How should I hand off my dog?
Bring your dog out to meet me, or I can greet your dog at the front door. You may see the salon before the appointment starts.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Major credit and debit cards through Square, cash, and check. Payment is due at the end of the appointment.
How often should my dog be groomed?
Many dogs do well every four to six weeks. Smooth single coats may sometimes extend toward four to eight weeks; continuously growing coats often need the shorter end of the range. The individual coat and home maintenance determine the best interval.
How do I rebook or ask a question?
Rebook through the online calendar or by text. For a question not answered here, text or call 623-340-6642.
